Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC), the "ESCO Saudi 2024" forum commenced in Riyadh, with a significant attendance of specialists and beneficiaries.
During the opening session, the Director General of SEEC, Nasser Al-Ghamdi, affirmed SEEC's commitment to becoming an international reference in the field of energy efficiency and a leading model in conserving natural resources, enhancing sustainability, and promoting economic and social welfare by 2030. He praised the substantial support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman in achieving these goals.
Al-Ghamdi pointed out that the forum and the accompanying exhibition are part of SEEC's efforts to present initiatives and services that contribute to improving energy consumption, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting national efforts to combat climate change. He explained that SEEC is working on creating an enabling environment for energy efficiency service providers and their beneficiaries through a licensing mechanism, which provides investment opportunities in energy auditing projects, retrofitting, and enhancing energy consumption efficiency in government, commercial, and industrial buildings.
In a related context, the Director of the General Administration for Energy Efficiency Enablers, Engineer Sultan Al-Mutairi, presented an overview of SEEC's role and efforts in empowering the energy efficiency services sector. He announced the launch of several initiatives to support this sector. Additionally, several academic institutions, licensed energy service providers, and companies that contributed to the pioneering project for the commercial sector were honored.
The accompanying exhibition was inaugurated with the participation of licensed energy efficiency service providers, showcasing their efforts in energy auditing in commercial and industrial establishments. The exhibition witnessed notable attendance from commercial establishment owners and those who are interested in energy efficiency. Throughout the forum, emphasis was placed on the efforts and initiatives undertaken to empower the energy efficiency services sector in the Kingdom, highlighting the available opportunities for energy efficiency projects and the latest practices and experiences in this field. The forum included presentations of success stories and training programs, targeting licensed energy efficiency service providers, universities, training centers, specialized engineers, and owners of commercial establishments such as malls, hospitals, medical facilities, private schools, hotels, and tourist accommodation facilities
