The Saudi Energy Efficiency Centre announced the enforcement of the Energy Efficiency Label on dishwashers across all sales outlets in the Kingdom starting from January 1, 2025. The centre urged consumers intending to purchase this type of appliance to ensure the label is present on the product and to report its absence via the “Commercial Violation” application.

The centre also launched a campaign today to introduce the Energy Efficiency Label for dishwashers in cooperation with several governmental entities working as a unified system to enhance energy consumption in the Kingdom. These entities include the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization, and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority.

This campaign is an extension of the awareness efforts launched by the centre in 2014 under the name “The National Campaign for Energy Conservation (To Last).”

The campaign, which lasts for 11 days, aims to raise community awareness about the new label and its mandatory application in sales outlets. It also seeks to introduce the label’s contents, meanings, and importance in guiding consumers to select the most energy-efficient appliance when purchasing dishwashers.

The campaign’s messages include several positive behaviors that contribute to reducing energy consumption in dishwashers. These messages aim to raise consumer awareness about the importance of verifying the presence of the Energy Efficiency Label before purchasing through the “Ta’akad” application to select dishwashers with a green-level rating.
