The Saudi Energy Efficiency Centre (SEEC) launched an awareness campaign today aimed at promoting the importance of verifying the authenticity of Energy Efficiency Labels on lighting products. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with relevant entities that work as a unified system, coordinating efforts to improve energy consumption efficiency in the Kingdom. These entities include MC, MIM, MOMAH, SASO, &ZATCA.
This campaign is an extension of the awareness efforts initiated by SEEC in 2014 under the name “The National Campaign for Energy Conservation (To Last).” Spanning four weeks, the campaign seeks to encourage consumers to use the “Ta’akad” application to verify the authenticity of Energy Efficiency Labels for lighting products and report any non-compliant items. It also aims to raise awareness among manufacturers about the importance of adhering to specifications and regulations related to energy efficiency in lighting, while cautioning against non-compliance.
These joint efforts contribute to strengthening oversight of lighting products, raising consumer awareness about the importance of selecting products that meet Saudi standards and specifications. This initiative ultimately supports enhanced energy consumption efficiency, consumer protection, and the regulation of the local market.
