SEEC seeks to improve the efficiency of energy consumption in the utilities sector, which consumes about 38% of the total primary energy in the Kingdom, by developing the necessary policies, regulation, and procedures in cooperation with the relevant authorities. The scope of work covers existing and new stations that fall within the sectors of electricity generation, cogeneration, water desalination, in addition to electricity transmission and distribution networks under the operation, feasibility study, design, or implementation phase.

Improving Energy Efficiency in the Utilities Sector
This initiative focuses on collecting and analyzing production and consumption data for power plants, desalination plants, and transmission and distribution networks. The tasks include conducting field visits to verify the validity and accuracy of the data, and issuing annual reports that show the performance of companies in the sector, in order to support energy efficiency improvement plans to achieve performance targets for 2025.
