Energy efficiency label for domestic appliances
It is a label that aims to raise a consumer awareness and give him approved ways to compare electrical appliances as per their efficiency in consuming electrical energy before purchasing them, to help him choose the appliance that has the best performance and the least consumption of electric energy. It explains the electrical energy efficiency consumption at different levels so that green represents the highest levels of appliance, most efficient and least energy-consuming electric energy. The energy efficiency label shall be clearly installed on the home appliance, enabling the consumer to easily see its contents.
The importance of energy efficiency label for home appliances
Enabling the ordinary consumer to compare appliances according to the efficiency of their electrical energy consumption, rationalizing the electrical energy consumption, which reduces the peak load of electricity and reduces the number of interruptions due to increased loads in the summer.
Rationalization for the electric energy consumption, which reduces the amount of domestic fuel consumption, increases the quantities exported abroad, raises the national income rate, creating a spirit of competition between local manufacturers and suppliers to provide the local market with high-efficiency appliances.
The minimum of energy efficiency coefficient depends on the type of product and will be determined as per the type of product and according to the technologies available in KSA and global markets. It intended to reduce the spread of appliances in the KSA's markets.
The energy efficiency label has been added to all electrical products, and the labels state the following data:
- Product Type
- product technical data
- QR Code of the product
- The brand Name
- Country of manufacture.
- Model number
- annual turnover of the product
- Energy efficiency levels so that the higher the efficiency of the product, green level become higher.
Fuel economy card
The fuel economy card aims to raise awareness the consumer about the energy efficiency of light vehicles, which vehicles their total weight are less than 3,500 kg.
What is fuel economy?
Vehicle energy efficiency is measured by a fuel economy scale. The fuel economy represents the distance traveled by the vehicle per consumed fuel unit, i.e. the distance traveled in kilometers per liter consumed spent fuel (km / liter).
High fuel economy means the vehicle is highly efficient and consumption low, so the vehicle can travel more distance for the same amount of fuel.
Contents of the fuel economy card
The top part of the card contains general vehicle information:
- Manufacturer name and model of vehicle, engine capacity in liters, model year.
- Vehicle type: there are two vehicles categories divided by use:
- The first category: Passenger car card (sedans, minivans) for light vehicles that are mainly made for use to transport no more than 10 passengers.
- The second category: the light trucks card (SUV, pick-up trucks, cargo trucks, minibuses 10+ passengers), which are vehicles that provide temporary shelter, carry the property on an exposed surface and provide a volume that can accommodate a load greater than the passenger car load.
The middle part of the card:
- The card is divided into 6 levels as per the vehicle's fuel consumption, the high is excellent and the low is very bad.
- The amount of fuel savings amount between each level (color) and another fuel economy level, between 4.5% to 5.5%.
The bottom part of the card:
- The bottom of the card shows fuel economy in Arabic and English numbers (km per liter)
- The fuel economy level in writing
- The type of the recommended fuel in the KSA from the manufacturer (91 petrol, 95 petrol, diesel, or electricity).
- Logo of Saudi Standards Metrology and Quality Organization
- legal formula required to stamp the card
Energy efficiency card of tires
The energy efficiency of a tire is measured by a tachometer, which is the amount of force that resisting the movement when the tire runs to the surface. The greater rotational resistance, the engine needs more power to overcome resistance.
The Energy Efficiency Card of Tires has been developed to improving energy efficiency in tires. The Energy Efficiency Card for Tires contain 6 levels, the highest is excellent and the lowest is very bad.
The top part of the card:
This part contains the main tire data and includes (company name, model, tire size, tire category, load factor, speed factor).
The middle part of the card:
This part Contains Energy Efficiency Levels, grip levels on a wet surface, and the index for each Level.
The bottom part of the card:
This part contains on the QR code, the logo of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, the legal formula required to stamp the card
